Saskatchewan Medical Association
It is a fund that reimburses Saskatchewan physicians for the fees associated with medical malpractice insurance premiums. Money in the fund comes from the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA), an organization that protects Canadian doctors against legal actions based on allegations of malpractice or negligence.
Physicians who are self-employed, meet certain thresholds of activity, and are not receiving benefits from any third party or employer.
