The Saskatchewan Medical Association is a voluntary professional association for physicians in Saskatchewan, where over 90 per cent of physicians are members. The SMA also represents the vast majority of medical students and residents training in Saskatchewan.

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time, permanent Director, Finance & Corporate Services to join our growing team! Reporting to the CEO, this position is responsible for overall strategic leadership in finance and accounting, as well as other corporate services, including information technology (IT), human resources (HR), and facilities management.

This position is based on-site at our office in Saskatoon, SK, with a voluntary hybrid work option allowing remote work from home up to 1 out of 5 days per week, subject to approval under our Hybrid Work Arrangement policy.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leads, coaches, and supports an extended team of nine employees by performing regular coaching, performance management, mentoring, skills development, and team building across a diverse group of staff roles.
• Provides leadership in the effective management and stewardship of financial and accounting functions for the association to ensure the organization’s long-term sustainability.
  • Oversees the financial planning and monitors cash flow for organizational accounts and multiple government-funded programs
  • Ensures the association’s financial reports are timely and accurate and meets the internal and external reporting requirements
  • Oversees accounting procedures, controls, and processes
  • Treasury and investment management
  • Oversees the audit relationship and acts as the co-signature for all audit-related engagements
  • Oversees the organization’s budget development, including a broad complement of individual program budgets
  • Provides lead support and planning resources to the SMA’s Finance Committee
• Provides senior leadership and oversight to ensure HR policies and programs meet relevant standards and legislation. Recommends professional development opportunities for all staff to meet organizational and ongoing professional goals.
• Provides senior leadership and oversight to ensure the organization has adequate IT infrastructure and resources to deliver on its mandate; that information is safeguarded in terms of cybersecurity and business continuity; that the enterprise software systems are optimized and integrated; and is accountable for technology-related process improvements.
• Provides oversight and is responsible for facilities management concerns of the organization.
• Oversees the effective stewardship and management of the association’s offices, equipment, and supplies, including ensuring the appropriate Occupational Health & Safety needs are met for employees.
• Acts as the organization’s senior representative to the building’s property manager.
• Participates in strategic and operational decision-making as a full member of the Senior Leadership Team, with specific responsibilities to advise the CEO in the areas of risk management within their portfolio.
• Develops and maintains key strategic partnerships and strong relationships with external agencies such as the Saskatchewan Health Authority, Ministry of Health, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan, the College of Medicine, and other provincial medical associations.
• As assigned by the CEO, provides management and leadership to SMA projects.
• Provides input and advice to the SMA Board as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in accounting, or equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training.
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required.
• Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is an asset.
• Experience in IT management and association management is an asset.
• 10+ years of senior-level leadership, preferably in the health sector, government sector, or member organization sector, with a proven successful career as a business service professional with broad business acumen.

Salary

 $152,737- $206,644 per annum commensurate with experience.

The Clinical Coordinator is a key clinical resource in providing a range of confidential services, including case management, referral, assessment, treatment, and on-going support to medical student, residents, physicians, and their families in pursuing and maintaining their personal health and well-being.

This position is based on-site at our office in Saskatoon, SK, with a voluntary hybrid work option subject to approval under our Hybrid Work Arrangement policy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides clinical intervention for patients/clients who experience complex physical health, mental health, addiction, aging, relational, financial and/or personal health issues in terms of triage, assessment, treatment, monitoring, counselling/coaching, case management, treatment plan development/implementation, advocacy and referral to community resources for the Physician Health Program (PHP).Provides evidence based clinical strategies for both individuals and groups;
• Develops strategic relationships and collaborates with external stakeholders/agencies to advance the strategic goals of the Physician Health Program (PHP);
• Operationalizes program strategic goals, collaboratively develops educational and interventional initiatives/programs which address health and wellness concerns for students, residents, physicians and their family members;
• Collects data and evaluates effectiveness and performance of the PHP services offered and to identify continuous improvement opportunities;
• Provides leadership, guidance, liaison and support to the Physician Health Program committee (PHPC) and individual members of the committee;
• Recruits and maintains contractual relationships with various PHP services providers (i.e., clinicians/agencies);
• Participates in development of strategic SMA initiatives that promote the objectives of the PHP;
• Plans, develops and delivers educational sessions on a variety of health and wellness topics;
• Provides feedback and support to the administrative assistant located in head office (e.g., Saskatoon); and
• Performs other program related duties assigned by the Director, Physician Wellbeing & Support Programs.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in a clinical health profession (e.g., psychiatric nursing, social work, clinical psychology)
• 10 years’ experience in mental health/psychiatry and addictions
• Knowledge and experience in case management

Salary:

$81,978 – $102,258 per annum commensurate with experience.
