Primary care panel reports for Sask. family physicians

Sask. family physicians can sign up for easy access to relevant information about the patients they serve and the care they deliver. This tool was developed by the SMA, HQC, SCFP and Academic Family Medicine.

The Saskatchewan Medical Association (SMA) and the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacy Professionals (SCPP) continue to discuss pharmacists’ scope of practice, particularly with respect to the minor ailments program.

Palliative and End-of-Life Care

In 2015, the CMA issued a national call to action, urging physicians to better serve their patients’ palliative care needs, whether that means providing earlier referral to palliative care or becoming educated in the principles of palliative care so as to provide it in their own practice.

Chronic-Disease Management-Quality Improvement Program

This program provides a supplementary payment to physicians who successfully submit process indicator data that reflects actions related to best practice patient care of chronic diseases.

CMA/Joule - SMA Physician Leadership Institute (PLI)

The Physician Leadership Institute is the Canadian Medical Association’s leadership development programs and courses are offered in-house at a reduced cost to SMA members.

Canadian Certified Physician Executive

The Canadian Certified Physician Executive (CCPE) Credential recognizes and advances physician leadership and excellence through a national, peer-generated, standards-based assessment process.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) Fund

The CME Fund reimburses physicians for the costs associated with continuing medical education courses and materials.

Physician Compensation Quality Improvement Program

This program compensates physicians for eligible time they spend on quality improvement (QI) projects and training with an eligible sponsoring organization.
