Virtual Care Compensation
Virtual care provides physicians and patients with flexibility and has shown itself to be an essential mode of care during the pandemic and as part of routine patient care.
Based on the newly negotiated Agreement (April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2026) the virtual care pilot fee codes are converted to permanent insured services and they are priced at 90% of their in-person counterparts.
Please note that the policies of the virtual care pilot program are still in place (i.e. 3,000 services limit, in-province patient and physician location requirements, etc.). For further information on virtual care fee codes please see the latest payment schedule.
Virtual Care Resources
A variety of virtual care options are available for physicians and clinicians who cannot be present to provide care in person.
Physicians interested in Saskatchewan Virtual Visit can send their name, email address, clinic name, and phone number to emr@sma.sk.ca. One of our Practice Advisors will follow up with you about your request.
Physicians who choose a different tool for virtual visits must ensure privacy and safety compliance with the chosen platform.
