Continuing Medical Education Reimbursement Program

What is it?

The Continuing Medical Education Reimbursement Program reimburses physicians for the costs associated with continuing medical education courses and reference materials.

Who is eligible?

The reimbursement is available to all physicians in active practice in Saskatchewan who are licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan and meet minimum activity thresholds.

What CME-related expenses qualify for reimbursement?

There are a number of CME related expenses that may qualify for reimbursement.  

These may include:

  • CME Accredited/Seminars, Courses, Medical Meetings
  • Computer Hardware – with purchase receipt ($1,000/year out of the annual entitlement)
  • Medical Textbooks, Journals and Medical Software

How do I apply?

You can apply one or more times each calendar year or carry forward money to use in the next year (i.e., you can bank funding in one year, then claim two years’ worth of support in the next year).  The maximum carry-over period is one year.
