New Artwork Inspires Our Commitment to Health-Related TRC Calls to Action
Artwork symbolizes medicine, growth, healing and reconciliation
The Saskatchewan Medical Association recently unveiled new artwork created by Chris Chipak, a Plains Cree artist from Red Pheasant Cree Nation. The artwork is meant to serve as a visible reminder of the SMA’s commitment to better support Saskatchewan physicians in responding to the health-related Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action.
“There is something meaningful in the image of a flower. Growth does not happen all at once. It requires care, patience and continued attention. Reconciliation asks the same of us.”
– Dr. Carla Holinaty, President, Saskatchewan Medical Association
We invite you to learn more about the meaning behind the artwork, the artist who created it and the SMA’s work toward truth and reconciliation here.
