Executives, RA delegates elected for Medical Staff Associations
Saskatchewan physicians have elected representatives for their local Medical Staff Associations (MSA) Executives and Representative Assembly (RA) delegates. Voting wrapped up March 12. Get the full results here.
For those MSAs holding elections for Executive positions, the Executives from these MSAs submitted their nominations from January 20 to January 30, then all active members were invited to nominate colleagues between February 2 and February 17. Physicians had three weeks to vote using a secure online voting platform.
Up to three reminders were sent out, encouraging members to vote. Voter turnout across MSAs varied from 23% to 44%. This turnout was consistent with last year, which was the first time the SMA used an online voting platform.
Bonnie Brossart, SMA Chief Executive Officer, and chief electoral officer, said the elections once again ran smoothly. “Our electronic voting system provides a more convenient way for members to vote,” said Brossart. “I believe that, as a member-based organization, our governance is strengthened by an efficient electoral process.”
