Representative Assembly and AGM

The Representative Assembly is the governing body of the Saskatchewan Medical Association. It consists of roughly 100 physician representatives from Medical Staff Associations, specialty sections, medical students and residents from across the province. It is given the authority to act for the entire membership as it considers fit and proper and in the interests of members.

The Representative Assembly sets the direction for the SMA. It meets twice a year to consider issues of interest to the medical profession and to set policy for the association — including electing the Board of Directors and approving the annual budget. The RA also appoints the association’s auditors.
