#1. Special Meeting of the General Membership

There will be a special meeting of the Saskatchewan Medical Association (SMA) general membership to be held on Wednesday, June 15, at 6 p.m.

As per the SMA bylaws the Board of Directors is convening a special meeting of the membership to revisit and continue the discussion on proposed bylaw amendments which began at the SMA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on May 6. Attached is the information package pre-circulated for the AGM (click here).

Time did not allow for the AGM to conclude its consideration of the proposed bylaw amendments. The purpose of the special meeting is to present additional information pertaining to the proposed changes to bylaws and to discuss next steps over the coming year.

#2. Special Meeting of the Representative Assembly (RA)

The Board of Directors is also convening a special meeting of the RA to follow the general membership meeting (details above). The business to be transacted at this RA is to receive and discuss the Report of the Special Committee on SMA Governance and potential next steps.
