Electronic Labs (eLabs)

Enabling electronic labs allows providers to receive patient lab results directly into the EMR. eLab results are immediately recorded in the patient’s chart, and the system can transfer this information to forms, letters, notes, or other documents within the EMR, eliminating the need to manually input lab results in multiple locations.

Chronic Disease Management – Quality Improvement Program (CDM-QIP)

The Chronic Disease Management Quality Improvement Program (CDM-QIP) promotes best practices in the management of specific chronic illnesses.

Currently, the CDM-QIP program includes four conditions:

  • Diabetes (DM)
  • Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Heart Failure (HF)

The CDM-QIP Program provides worksheets for each condition with best practice indicators. Physicians can export worksheets from their EMR to the eHR Viewer, making patient data more accessible.

QHR Accuro – Reporting on exported patients

Integrated eHR Viewer

The eHR Viewer enhances patient care by providing a provincial view of patient information.

Integrating the eHR Viewer within your EMR allows you to access patient information collected by other healthcare providers such as lab results, medical information, immunization information, transcribed clinical documents, medical imaging and reports, hospital visits, and chronic disease information.

The eHR Viewer can also reduce duplicate testing and can result in fewer administrative tasks without the need to sign into multiple accounts.

Pharmaceutical Information Program (PIP)

The Pharmaceutical Information Program (PIP) is an electronic database that contains information about a patient’s prescribed and dispensed medications. Authorized health professionals use PIP in their treatment and decision-making process. PIP adds to the quality, safety, and management of health care in Saskatchewan.

Integrated PIP is available only in QHR Accuro and provides read-only access.

EMR Interoperability

EMR Interoperability enables the flow of clinical information from point-of-care systems to the eHR Viewer. More importantly, EMR Interoperability allows for physician notification when key clinical information is available for a patient Click here to learn more
