The Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) and the Saskatchewan Medical Association (SMA) reached an agreement for a period of five years commencing on Oct. 1, 2020, and expiring on Sept. 30, 2025.

The most recent agreement includes the following:

• All physician service rates and reporting fees schedules are effective Oct. 1, 2020

• All physician service rates and reporting fees will be adjusted annually beginning April 1, 2022 using the “GP index”

• If increases to the GP index are unavailable, the adjustment will occur within 30 days of the index becoming available

• Descriptor for some of the fee codes are updated to better reflect physician practices
