Retention Fund
To access information regarding your Retention Fund balance, log into the MySMA Member Portal under Benefits & Programs. The MySMA Member Portal contains your member information and member-only news and resources. Effective April 1, 2024.
What is it?
This fund rewards physicians who practise in Saskatchewan for extended periods. By serving patients in this province for a defined length of time, physicians can earn entitlements every fiscal year.
Effective April 1, 2024:
| Years of Practice in Saskatchewan | Benefit – Full Time | Benefit – Part-Time |
| 0 to 10 Years | $7,000 per fiscal year | $3,500 per fiscal year |
| 11 to 20 years | $10,500 per fiscal year | $5,250 per fiscal year |
| 21 plus years | $14,000 per fiscal year | $7,000 per fiscal year |
Who is eligible?
You are eligible for the Retention Fund if you:
- Are licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan.
- Live in Saskatchewan, and
- Provide insured clinical services in Saskatchewan that meet the thresholds for eligibility or serve in an approved medical administrative position.
