The Government of Canada is proposing changes to taxation regulations as they relate to incorporation. If implemented, these changes will have a profound effect on the economic affairs of professional groups, including physicians.
Since this issue is of utmost concern to our members, the SMA has been working with the CMA to prepare and support various initiatives to inform the federal government that the changes should not go forward as proposed. The government is consulting the public on the proposed changes and is accepting submissions until Oct. 2, 2017.
The SMA has designed this resource page to be a useful hub of information for members. It includes links to analysis of the changes, media stories, and provides information so that physicians can easily reach out to government officials to register concerns and present alternatives to the proposed tax changes.
If you have questions or concerns, or want to suggest information or links for the page, please e-mail us at sma@sma.sk.ca or call 1-800-667-3781.
