Patient care number one priority of Sask. physicians: SMA video
The Saskatchewan Medical Association (SMA) has released a video featuring president Dr. John Gjevre as part of its advocacy for a strong primary health care system.
The video is based on a radio commentary Dr. Gjevre made that aired on CKOM/CJME on Aug. 30, 2022.
The SMA is advocating for changes in primary health care whereby patients are attached to – and have access to – physician-led, team-based care close to their homes. We believe – as part of advocacy efforts – that it is important to let patients know that their access to quality health care services is the number one priority of Saskatchewan’s physicians.
“I hope the people of Saskatchewan hear our message that physicians are bringing forward realistic and much-needed solutions to the challenges facing our health care system,” said Dr. Gjevre. “Patients and physicians alike will benefit from better access to family physicians and team-based care.”
The video was produced by Chess Club of Saskatoon.
