Rural and Regional Practice Establishment Grant

The Rural and Regional Practice Establishment Grant provides $25,000 to physicians establishing a practice in rural or regional Saskatchewan. In return, physicians must practice in a rural or regional Saskatchewan community for a minimum of 24 months. This grant is available to physicians meeting the following criteria:

  • have not practiced in Saskatchewan during the past twelve months

  • are family physicians who agree to establish a practice in rural or regional Saskatchewan

  • have full licensure under Section 28 or provisional licensure under Section 29 of The Medical Profession Act at the time of application

  • apply for the grant up to 12 months after practice has commenced

  • agree to fulfill a 24 month return-in-service commitment in a rural/regional centre, as indicated on the application form
