The Rural and Regional Practice Establishment Grant provides $25,000 to physicians establishing a practice in rural or regional Saskatchewan. In return, physicians must practice in a rural or regional Saskatchewan community for a minimum of 24 months. This grant is available to physicians meeting the following criteria:
have not practiced in Saskatchewan during the past twelve months
are family physicians who agree to establish a practice in rural or regional Saskatchewan
have full licensure under Section 28 or provisional licensure under Section 29 of The Medical Profession Act at the time of application
apply for the grant up to 12 months after practice has commenced
agree to fulfill a 24 month return-in-service commitment in a rural/regional centre, as indicated on the application form
